INTRODUCING ELITE MODEL LOOK -TANZANIA
Compass Communications Company Limited introduces the largest and most prestigious modeling international competition in the world – Elite Model Look. Compass Communications Company Ltd is an independent TV production company that produces various TV programs and also is the organizer of Miss Universe Tanzania and other beauty pageant titles like Miss Earth, Miss International and Miss Tourism Queen International in Tanzania. The company has now branched out into a more specialized part of the industry namely professional modeling.
Elite Model Look contest was created in 1983 under the name Look of the Year. Elite Model Look competition is the largest model contest of its kind. This contest has become one of the most prestigious springboards for talents into the modeling industry. Up to now Elite Model Management is present in 5 continents and it represents more than 2,000 (Two Thousand) models internationally.
Each year, the Elite Model Look competition sees over 350,000 contestants attend regional and national castings that take place in more than 55 different countries, with at least one contestant of each country participating in the main event – the World Final..
The competition is made of several steps. Thus, through an intensive and rigorous selection process, which drives them from regional castings to national finals, at least one local contestant of each country gets a chance to participate in the World Final. Here in Tanzania Compass Communications will hold local auditions in Dar-Es-Salaam : where all applying contestants will be narrowed down to 10 to 15 semifinalists. No final event will be held this year in Tanzania and the 10 – 15 semifinalists will then be judged by a panel of judges including a representative from Elite Model Look headquarters in Paris, France, in order to find the Tanzanian model who will represent Tanzania in the World Finals in October in Sanya, China.
All girls are invited to make their dreams come true by participating in auditions of Elite Model Look Tanzania. The auditions are open to strictly girls aged 14 to 20 years, with the minimum height of 172 cm. The winner will be selected to meet the fast changing trends and needs of the fashion industry. She will be chosen based on photogenic quality, personality and natural beauty. From the approximately 70 finalists at the World Finals, 15 are chosen by an international panel of judges and they all sign an exclusive contract with Elite Model management. And out of the 15 luck ones, 3 are voted as winners. The top 3 winners will share a guaranteed remuneration of 325,000 USD in total as modeling contract.
This is the first time for Tanzania to hold the license and to select a finalist for Elite Model Look although in 1999 Miriam Odemba was selected and participated successfully in the Elite Model Look World Final in Nice, Paris through MNet Face of Africa.
