A couple of months ago, a friend asked me if I could come up with at least 100 songs that I consider to be most inspirational and motivational. This friend knows that I love music than a sleep. In fact, I have never imagined how the world could be without music. I have always said that there are three things that I run into whenever I feel like the skies are yellow and not blue; God, Family and Music!

However, I don’t love just any music even though I listen or could say I have listened to all genres of music available out there. I love music with lyrics that bears a message. It being good or evil, it gotta have a “message”. Of course, at the end of the day, I tend to stick with the ones that motivate and inspires.

I have therefore compiled a list of 120 songs that I consider to be both inspirational and motivational. I have already shared this list with a friend who asked and thought it’s not a bad idea if I share the same with you. I know some of you are also music fanatics.

These are the songs that keep me going even when things seem to get almost too tough to handle. Whenever I need to hear a voice different from the one from Heaven that tomorrow could be better, I tune in and listen to some of them.

Now before you start examining my list, please allow me to say this; I appreciate the fact that everyone will have their favorites and if none of the above is inspirational songs or motivational song, in your point of view, please accept my deepest regrets! This list is in random order. The numbers don’t have much meaning. Feel free to add some of your favorites through the comments section. I am planning to review this list in a couple of months. I will be happy to add some of your recommendations. Enjoy;

    bongocelebrity,
    is it worth mentioning Enrique Iglesias – Bailamos. This song in original has a great power.
    Avenged’s Seize the Day is also a good motivator.
    Pink Floyd’s Take it Back brings tears to my eyes.

  16. Comment by bongocelebrity on August 19th, 2010 5:10 pm

    Andrew,
    Definitely,it worth mentioning Bailamos.I have never understood the meaning behind it but, just as you mentioned,it is a powerful song.
    Seize The Day is definetely a higher class.Take It Back brings a lot of thoughts in my sometimes empty head.Thanks for mentioning it.

    Good list lakini sijaona nyimbo za kitanzania? Or Mr. Jeff you’re not in favour with Vijana Jazz, Nyanyambe Jazz or Morogoro Jazz.

    Tell me about these few hits: Mwanameka, Mapenzi Shuleni, Wifi zangu, Ukewenza, and many more.

    I strong agree that the list you provides is good. however, i find classing Tanzania musican songs more powerful.
