Miss Universe Tanzania 2010,Hellen Dausen,will be onstage tonight to proudly represent Tanzania at the global Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant.
TheMiss Universe 2010 which is the 59th edition of the pageant,will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino,Las Vegas-Nevada,US. It will be hosted by Bret Michaels and Natalie Morales.It will be broadcasted Live on NBC starting at 9pm Eastern Standard Time.

UPDATE: The Miss Universe Pageant is Live right now on NBC.That comes with a bit bad news;The top 15 contestants have just been announced and Hellen Dausen is not among them!That means,once again,we gonna have to wait and hope for next year.The only contestant from Africa who is in top 15 is Miss Universe-South Africa.

MEXICO WINS MISS UNIVERSE 2010!

When 23-year-old Hellen Dausen was crowned Miss Universe 2010(Tanzania) in that glamorous event this past May, nobody was really surprised. In fact, many would have questioned if she hadn’t won. She had impressed the judges and the audience with her confidence on stage, creativity, quick wits and above all, her looks. In short, she had all it took to win.
She has been described by some of the “insiders” of the world of beauty and modelling as the beauty with an incredible bone structure. To that, I could add; she is also confident, charming and knowledgeable.
Standing at 5′7″, Hellen is more than ready to represent Tanzania in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on 23rd August 2010. This will be the 59th edition of the pageant.
Recently, she took a break out of her busy schedule to talk to us. In this exclusive interview, she shares her views on a number of subjects including her success, her inner worlds, her preparations for the upcoming globally watched event and many more. Here is the full interview;
BC: Hellen, Congratulations for winning the Miss Universe Tanzania 2010 title. Welcome to BongoCelebrity. How are you?
HD: Thank you very much; I am more than fine and doing great so far.
BC: How does it feel or rather how did it feel to be crowned Miss Universe Tanzania 2010?
HD: I felt so great that day. I think great doesn’t describe it well…lemme look for another juicy word and will get back to that ha ha ha!
You know; when Maria Sarungi (the National Director for Miss Universe Tanzania) was announcing the runners-up and it was time to announce the winner of the title, she asked the crowd who they think should win…..and almost everyone stood up, hands up and screamed HELLEN!!!! Ha ha ha I almost ran off the stage. It was Amazing!
BC: Can you name the 3 qualities in you, which you think were /are important in grabbing the Miss Universe Tanzania 2010 title?
HD: Oooh yeah!!!
- Intelligence
- Hardwork
- Beauty and stage presence (ok that’s four!)
BC: People may define you in many ways. What matters most is how you define yourself. Do you agree with that sentence? If yes, how do you define yourself? Who is Hellen Dausen?
She is famously known as a Goodwill Ambassador for Tanzania. Her name is Tausi Likokola, one of the most successful international models that Tanzania has ever produced. In her modeling career, she has graced the catwalk stages of international shows and showcased some of the most renowned labels such as Gucci, Escada, Tommy Hilfiger, Christian Dior, Issey Miyake and many more.
However, Tausi is not just a model or a Goodwill Ambassador for Tanzania. She is an activist, an author and a mother. She is the founder of the not-for-profit organization, Tausi AIDS Fund, which supports prevention and awareness programs against HIV/AIDS in Africa. It is actually her efforts to support prevention and awareness of HIV/AIDS in Africa that landed her the title of a Goodwill Ambassador for Tanzania as a recognition and encouragement from the Government of Tanzania.
Recently, Tausi added yet another book in her list of books that she has authored. Her most recent book is titled The Touch of An Angel. About this book, Tausi says; “This is the closest and most private part of my life. This is my story of loss and how I am reconciling that loss. This is a memoir of my angel, AMANI. It is a story of life’s joy and pain”.
I recently caught up with Tausi to talk about her new book and also a couple of other things. Here is the interview;
BC: Congratulations for the launch of your latest book, The Touch of An Angel and welcome to BongoCelebrity.com. How are you doing today?
Tausi: Doing very well, thank you for all your support over the years.
BC: When did you decide to write a The Touch of an Angel? Did you have any particular reason for starting to write at that very moment?
Tausi: I have been writing as long as I can remember and always expressed myself through writing….likewise with this book….I was working my feeling and emotions through my writing. I started writing the book in Japan in 2005 following the death of my first born “Amani”….this book is on the incident that unfolded during that time.
BC: How was your writing process like? Did you have to get up early morning everyday to write or how did it go?

Illuminata Wize, Miss Tanzania 2009, models fashion designed by Sabrina Francis of Se “B” Fashion Designing. Each specifically designed outfit were created and tailored for each Miss Universe Contestant featuring Bahamian fabrics. The Fashion Showcase took place at the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort August 12, 2009(yesterday).
The 84 delegates are in Nassau competing for the title of Miss Universe 2009 that will air Live on the NBC Television Network August 23, 2009 at 9:00 PM ET from ATLANTIS, Paradise Island, Bahamas. (ET) ho/Miss Universe Organization.
